COMMON ISSUES & EXPIRY
Alarm continues to beep after a backup battery change.
NB… important that Homeowners do not attempt to remove the unit from the ceiling, as they often fail to get the unit back on the ceiling bracket.
Out of production. When we encounter this model it has commonly been expired for over 15 years.
How to Open
The unit has a battery drawer on the side of the alarm. The drawer can be pulled outwards exposing the backup battery
Our Opinion
One of the earliest residential smoke alarms installed in Australia. Highly reliable when adequately maintained. In terms of reliability we would rate it 9/10. Because it is no longer being produced, it should be replaced for compliance purposes.
