Clipsal Firetek 755SMA

Clipsal Firektek Smoke Alarm 755SMA 240V a.c. Mains Power Ionisation Smoke Alarm with 9V d.c. Battery Backup

General Information

Maintenance: It is recommended that the smoke alarm is inspected monthly to ensure it is free from dirt, dust and insects. The alarm can be vacuumed or brushed with a soft brush to remove dust, dirt or kitchen grease that has accumulated. A small amount of surface spray around the alarm should deter insect ingress.

COMMON ISSUES & EXPIRY

Broken plastic hinges is a common query with units over 7 years of age. The central test/hush button can become stiff and stick as the alarm ages. Particularly if not regularly maintained.

How to Open

The Clipsal FireTek 755SMA has a side based push button release. It will then unlatch on plastice hinges. Providing access to the battery compartment and label details.

Our Opinion

A large install base. A reliable unit. Larger diameter width, easy to unlatch. Older ionisation type smoke sensor. Production ceased in 2014. Units are all now expired and require replacement.
